A Student Sponsorship Licence is for an educational institution looking to sponsor foreign students either as an Adult Student or as a Child Student. As a higher education institution, you can complete the compliance requirement to become a special Student Sponsor with an HEI status. Some institution can also apply for other type of Sponsorships such as independent school, private provider, or publicly funded college.
How Long is the Sponsorship Licence granted for?
The sponsorship Licence for your company is granted for 4 years that can be renewed at the end of the 4 years.
What are the Eligibility requirements for a Sponsorship Licence?
To be eligible to apply for the Sponsorship Licence, the company must meet the following requirements.
- Genuineness of the organisation operating lawfully in the UK.
- Have a relevant HR System in place.
- Capable of carrying out the sponsor duties and meeting compliance requirements.
- Offering genuine CAS letters to students.
The Home Office will expect to see evidence to support your application.
How long does it take to get the Sponsorship Licence?
The Home Office could take up to 8 weeks from the date of submission of the Sponsorship Licence application. However, if the company would like to expedite the application the premium service could be an alternative.
